Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment services in terms of intensity of care, as the individual can maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways with no commitment of needing to be in a rehab center while receiving rehabilitation services. Although this may seem perfect it may not provide the much needed change of surroundings than a lot of people in treatment require to have a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance won't cover the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but people really have a much more leverage simply because they can decide on whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals face. In addition, rehab facilities will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present another kind of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality treatment facility that will get better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only within the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some form of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab programs. Individuals could have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that is inside their network of providers and there could be other restrictions including the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent facility they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation specialist to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular substance abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some limitations as to just how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before beginning treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of preference.
