Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment solutions regarding level of care, as the individual can maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to remain in a rehab program while undergoing rehabilitation services. While this may seem ideal it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than lots of people in treatment have to have to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehab or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehab centers will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab facilities accept Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present some other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals may wish to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality treatment program which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug treatment centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in establishing the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some form of drug treatment service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that's in their network of providers and there can be other restrictions such as the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they like and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations regarding how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before beginning rehab so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of preference.
