Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone that must be safely managed through detox services when seriously addicted to drugs, or who wants a broader spectrum of care such as somebody who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health services as part of their treatment process. You will find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use due to the challenges their impairment impose on them. While detection of the problem can often be hard among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL along with other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse rehab is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the help they need in drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but people in fact have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehabilitation programs will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehab centers accept Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present some other form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may want to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehab program which will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in setting up the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some form of drug and alcohol treatment service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility that is within their network of providers and there might be other restrictions including just how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can select a good center they like and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions about how much time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation is permitted, and every one of these questions can be answered prior to starting treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can remain in the treatment program of preference.
