Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to intensity of care, because the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways with no commitment of needing to be in a rehabilitation program while receiving treatment services. While this may appear perfect it may not provide the required change of environment than many individuals in treatment require to have a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't cover the entire cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they want without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many men and women encounter. In addition, rehabilitation centers will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment inside a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may want to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality rehab center that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. Individuals might have to take part in an alcohol and drug treatment center that's inside their network of providers and there may be other restrictions such as just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a good facility they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.
