Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anybody that has to be safely managed through detox services when seriously addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, or who needs a better spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health services as part of their rehabilitation procedure. You can find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use because of the challenges their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem is often difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL along with other assistance services intended for them when substance abuse rehab is required. Aside from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired folks are receiving the help they need in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women encounter. Likewise, rehab programs will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment centers accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality treatment program that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at alcohol and drug treatment programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in establishing the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only inside the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some type of drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals could possibly have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehab program that's inside their network of providers and there can be other limitations such as the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they like and consult with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of particular drug abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations about how long a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered prior to starting rehab so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the treatment facility of preference.
