Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to level of care, as the individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of needing to remain in a rehab center while undergoing rehab services. Although this might seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many people in recovery need to have a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehabilitation centers will usually offer payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment centers accept Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present any other form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehabilitation center which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug and alcohol rehab facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might qualify for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug rehabilitation program that is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations for example the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent center they like and speak with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance will take care of it.
