The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to problems that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the problem is often difficult among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL and also other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is needed. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired folks are receiving the help they need in alcohol and drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many men and women face. In addition, treatment centers will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment facilities will take Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present another form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehab center that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug treatment center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals could have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions including the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a good center they prefer and meet with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain substance abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some restrictions regarding just how long a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is permitted, and every one of these questions can be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it is clear the length of time and individual can remain in the treatment facility of preference.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance possibility provided by a number of drug rehab facilities in order to help individuals afford treatment where this may not have been doable originally. For instance, one client's fee for rehabilitation might be different and less than someone else whose financial situation is better which makes them more prepared to spend the money for full price of treatment. Registrars consider additional circumstances aside from income including amount of dependents to determine the ultimate cost and using the sliding scale.
