Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone who has to be safely managed through detox services when seriously addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, or who wants a better spectrum of care such as someone who has a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health solutions during their rehab process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Persons With Co-Occurring Mental And Substance Abuse Disorders

Persons with co-occurring mental and drug abuse issues are what are recognized in the field of drug and alcohol treatment as dual diagnosis clients. These clients must tackle both disorders whilst in rehab to find resolution because one usually exacerbates the other. Luckily, there are several alcohol and drug treatment programs who are able to specifically address the issues that persons with co-occurring mental and drug abuse issues face to enable them to not merely become abstinent but mentally secure and also able to lead a much better quality lifestyle and never consider it wise to self medicate with drugs and alcohol.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to the challenges their impairment impose on them. While detection of the issue can be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL and also other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse rehab is necessary. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the help they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women encounter. Likewise, rehab centers will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs accept Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present some other form of private health care insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of facilities, and in this instance individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality rehab facility which will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehab facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Individuals could have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that is in their network of providers and there could be other limitations such as the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they like and meet with a rehab specialist to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the price of particular drug abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions regarding just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the rehabilitation center of choice.
