Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of intensity of care, because the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehabilitation program while undergoing rehab services. Even if this may seem perfect it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than many individuals in rehab need to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may appear like a drawback but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can choose whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehab programs will usually provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs will take Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present any other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality treatment program that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug rehabilitation programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some form of drug treatment service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug treatment facility which is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions like how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a quality program they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation specialist to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.
