Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions in terms of level of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to be in a rehabilitation center while undergoing rehab services. Even if this may seem ideal it may not provide the required change of surroundings than lots of people in recovery need to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may appear like a drawback but people really have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever facility they want without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, treatment facilities will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present another kind of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of facilities, and in this instance individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehabilitation center that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug rehab programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in establishing the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. If someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug rehabilitation facility which is within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent center they like and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some restrictions about the length of time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehab so that it is clear just how long and individual can stay in the treatment program of choice.

Payment Assistance (Check With Facility For Details)

Many alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs offer payment assistance to help individuals who may not have sufficient funds to self pay for treatment or whose medical insurance won't provide coverage or full coverage for their stay. As an example, Occasionally insurance only covers a short-term center when in actuality a long-term facility is going to be the more suitable choice. To find out what payment assistance may be available, like a sliding fee scale, talk with the facility for particulars.
