Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of treatment solutions in terms of intensity of care, as the individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehab facility while undergoing rehabilitation services. Even though this might appear ideal it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than many individuals in rehab require to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, treatment facilities will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation programs will take Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present some other type of private health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehab facility that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could be eligible for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans generally cover some type of drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab center that's inside their network of providers and there might be other limitations for example the amount of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick a quality facility they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation specialist to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some limitations as to just how long a stay in inpatient drug rehab is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered before you start treatment so that it is clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation center of choice.
