Medicaid

Some rehab centers accept Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present any other form of private health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals might want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality treatment facility which will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.
