Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals face. In addition, treatment facilities will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment centers will take Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may want to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehab program that will get better results, such as a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in establishing the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug and alcohol treatment service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers. Individuals could have to participate in an alcohol and drug treatment facility that's in their network of providers and there might be other restrictions for example the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select an excellent center they prefer and consult with a treatment specialist to ascertain if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations as to the length of time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you begin treatment so that it is clear how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of choice.
