Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions in terms of level of care, since the individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to stay in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing rehabilitation services. Even though this may seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of surroundings than a lot of people in rehab need to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these situations, it may appear like a drawback but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehab programs will usually offer payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at alcohol and drug rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they can seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug rehab programs. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug and alcohol treatment program which is within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select an excellent program they prefer and speak with a treatment specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse rehab services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions regarding the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it is clear the length of time and individual can remain in the treatment program of choice.
