Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services in terms of intensity of care, because the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing treatment services. Although this may appear ideal it might not provide the much needed change of surroundings than many people in rehabilitation require to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but people really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many men and women face. In addition, rehab centers will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present some other kind of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals might want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality rehabilitation program which will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may qualify for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some type of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals might have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab center that is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations including how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent program they like and consult with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular substance abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions as to just how long a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the treatment program of choice.
