Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment solutions with regards to level of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of needing to be in a rehabilitation center while undergoing treatment services. Even if this may seem perfect it might not provide the much needed change of environment than many individuals in recovery need to experience a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but people really have a great deal of leverage because they can decide on whichever facility they want without the restrictions from health insurers that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehabilitation centers will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehab centers accept Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present another kind of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may possibly cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may want to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality treatment center that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug rehab programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. If a person doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only inside the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some type of alcohol and drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehab facility which is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions such as how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a good center they like and consult with a rehab counselor to ascertain if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs and also partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some limitations regarding just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehabilitation so that it is clear how much time and individual can stay in the rehab facility of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance possibility available from a number of drug treatment programs in an effort to help clients pay for rehabilitation where this may not have been possible initially. By way of example, one client's price for treatment could be different and lower than someone else whose financial situation is better making them more prepared to spend the money for full expense of treatment. Registrars take into account other factors in addition to income including amount of dependents to determine the final cost and using the sliding scale.
