Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab solutions in terms of intensity of care, since the individual can maintain their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of having to stay in a rehab center while undergoing rehabilitation services. Although this might seem ideal it may not provide the required change of environment than many individuals in rehabilitation require to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but people really have a great deal of leverage because they can decide on whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many people encounter. Likewise, rehab centers will often offer payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation programs will take Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present another kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality rehab facility which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehab facility.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. If a person doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that is inside their network of providers and there can be other limitations including the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a quality facility they prefer and meet with a rehab counselor to find out if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular drug abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations regarding how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehab is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it is clear how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of choice.

Payment Assistance (Check With Facility For Details)

Many alcohol and drug treatment programs offer payment assistance to help individuals who may not have adequate money to self pay for rehabilitation or whose medical insurance won't provide coverage or full coverage for his or her stay. For example, Occasionally insurance only pays for a short-term facility when in actuality a long-term program will be the more suitable selection. To determine what payment assistance could be offered, for instance a sliding fee scale, seek advice from the center for particulars.
