Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone that has to be safely managed through detoxification services when intensely addicted to alcohol and drugs, or who wants a broader spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis so also requires mental health solutions during their rehabilitation process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment services with regards to intensity of care, because the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of needing to be in a rehab center while receiving rehab services. While this may appear perfect it will not provide the much needed change of environment than lots of people in rehab need to have a productive rehabilitation.

Seniors/Older Adults

Seniors and older adults who have trouble with drug abuse could possibly have unique challenges they must conquer during rehab, which treatment professionals in the program they choose to be a part of must be keen of in order that a complete recovery is possible. So for seniors and older adults, it is prudent to select a facility that is accustomed to helping seniors and older adults address the unique life and substance abuse problems that these clients face which might include a wider spectrum of services including medical care and so on.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and substance abuse due to problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the problem can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, you can find ASL along with other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse rehabilitation is required. Apart from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the help they need in drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for part of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but people in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. In addition, treatment centers will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation facilities will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may possibly cover outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals might want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehabilitation facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehab centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in setting up the individual's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. If someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some form of alcohol and drug rehab service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation centers. Individuals could have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which is in their network of providers and there might be other restrictions such as how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a quality facility they prefer and consult with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers and also partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some restrictions as to just how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning treatment so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the treatment facility of choice.
