Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment services with regards to level of care, because the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of needing to be in a rehabilitation program while receiving rehabilitation services. Even though this may seem perfect it may not provide the required change of environment than a lot of people in rehab need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse because of the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this issue can often be hard among the hearing impaired, there are ASL along with other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse rehabilitation is required. Other than ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the support they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many people encounter. Likewise, rehab centers will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment centers accept Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of facilities, and in this instance individuals might want to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they can to cover a more quality treatment program that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at alcohol and drug rehab programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug treatment service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug treatment centers. Individuals could possibly have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility which is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions like how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent facility they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation specialist to find out if their insurance will take care of it.
