Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anybody that has to be safely managed through detoxification services when heavily addicted to drugs, or who wants a better spectrum of care such as somebody who is dealing with a dual diagnosis so also needs mental health services as part of their rehab procedure. You will find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a drawback but people in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can choose whichever center they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many men and women face. In addition, rehab programs will often provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment facilities will take Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present some other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term treatment inside a limited amount of programs, and in cases like this individuals may wish to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehab center which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug rehabilitation facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug rehab service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals might have to participate in a drug rehabilitation program that is inside their network of providers and there might be other restrictions including the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent facility they prefer and speak with a rehab specialist to ascertain if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse treatment services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it's clear how much time and individual can remain in the treatment center of choice.
