Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of level of care, since the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to be in a rehabilitation facility while receiving rehabilitation services. Even though this may seem ideal it may not provide the much needed change of surroundings than many people in rehabilitation have to have to have a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment centers will take Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present some other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they can to cover a more quality treatment program which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug treatment centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the individual's treatment plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If a person does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehab facility which is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions for example just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick a quality program they like and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to ascertain if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse treatment services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs and also partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions regarding how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it's clear how much time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of preference.
