Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to level of care, for the reason that individual can maintain their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of needing to stay in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing rehab services. While this might appear perfect it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in rehabilitation need to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may seem like a disadvantage but people in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present another type of private health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may choose to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehabilitation facility that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug treatment center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in establishing the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only inside the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals could have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that's within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select an excellent program they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation specialist to find out if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you begin rehab so that it is clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of preference.
