Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone who needs to be safely managed through detox services when intensely addicted to alcohol and drugs, or who needs a better spectrum of care such as somebody who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health services during their rehab process. You'll find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many people encounter. Likewise, rehab centers will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment centers accept Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present another kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals may wish to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehab facility that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but typically only within the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment centers. Individuals could have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab center that's inside their network of providers and there may be other restrictions such as just how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick a quality center they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation specialist to ascertain if their insurance will cover it.
