Substance Abuse Treatment Services

Substance abuse treatment services can be obtained in a variety of settings and with different rehabilitation lengths and plans to accommodate the various demands of clients with any sort of and amount of addiction. With both short and long term and both inpatient and residential facilities now being paid by many insurance plans, there is no need to postpone getting substance abuse treatment services for anyone who desires it.

Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions regarding intensity of care, because the individual can preserve their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to remain in a rehabilitation center while receiving treatment services. While this may seem perfect it will not provide the much needed change of surroundings than many people in rehab have to have to experience a successful rehabilitation.

DUI/DWI Offenders

DUI and DWI offenders in many cases are given the possibility or ordered to rehabilitation as part of sentencing. Often times, the offender can decide which rehabilitation center they would like to go to. Upon successful completion, DUI and DWI offenders can take advantage of reduced sentencing options to be able to progress in their lives without having to be penalized any more.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but people in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. In addition, rehabilitation centers will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehab facilities will take Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present any other kind of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may choose to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality treatment center that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug treatment programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some form of alcohol and drug treatment service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehab facility which is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions for example the amount of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a good center they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions as to how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehab is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it's clear the length of time and individual can stay in the treatment center of choice.
