Drug Addiction Facts

  • Research shows that the driving skills of someone under the influence of marijuana are impaired for at least 4-6 hours after smoking a single marijuana cigarette, long after the "high" is gone.
  • About one-half to two-thirds of boating accidents are alcohol-related.
  • Because heroin abusers do not know the actual strength of the drug or its true contents, they are consistently putting themselves at risk for a potentially deadly overdose.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this issue can sometimes be hard among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL as well as other assistance services intended for them when substance abuse rehab is needed. Aside from ASL, such services can include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the help they require in drug and alcohol rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment facilities will take Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present any other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality treatment program that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehab facility.
