Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment services regarding intensity of care, as the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to stay in a rehabilitation facility while receiving rehabilitation services. While this may seem perfect it will not provide the much needed change of environment than a lot of people in rehab require to have a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but people really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation programs will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment facilities will take Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality treatment program which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug rehab centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug treatment service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals could have to take part in a drug treatment program which is inside their network of providers and there may be other restrictions like just how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick a good center they like and speak with a treatment specialist to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular substance abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations about just how long a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it's clear how much time and individual can remain in the treatment facility of choice.
