Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab solutions regarding intensity of care, as the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a rehabilitation center while undergoing treatment services. Although this might seem perfect it will not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in rehabilitation have to have to have a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a much more leverage because they can select whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will frequently offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some treatment programs accept Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present another form of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of facilities, and in this case individuals may choose to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality rehab center that will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehab plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only inside the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which is in their network of providers and there could be other limitations such as how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent center they prefer and speak with a treatment counselor to ascertain if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain substance abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs and also partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some limitations as to the length of time a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is permitted, and every one of these questions can be answered before you begin treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the treatment center of preference.
