Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody that needs to be safely managed through detoxification services when intensely dependent to drugs and alcohol, or who wants a better spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health solutions as part of their rehabilitation procedure. You can find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can choose whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many men and women face. Likewise, treatment facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehab centers accept Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present any other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals may choose to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality treatment facility which will produce better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug treatment facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in establishing the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If a person doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab center that's inside their network of providers and there may be other limitations including the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality program they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some limitations regarding the length of time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the treatment center of preference.
