Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions regarding intensity of care, because the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehab center while undergoing rehab services. Even if this might seem ideal it may not provide the required change of environment than many individuals in recovery need to have a productive rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use because of the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this issue can often be hard among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL and other assistance services readily available for them when drug abuse rehabilitation is needed. Other than ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the help they need in drug and alcohol rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't pay for the total cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehabilitation programs will often provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehab programs will take Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of facilities, and in this instance individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality rehab facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only within the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some kind of alcohol and drug rehab service including outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals could have to take part in a drug treatment facility that is inside their network of providers and there might be other restrictions like the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality facility they prefer and meet with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of certain substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions about just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting treatment so that it's clear the length of time and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance option available from a number of alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers in order to help clients pay for treatment where this may not have been doable initially. As an example, one client's fee for treatment could be different and somebody else whose finances are better which makes them more prepared to pay the full expense of rehab. Registrars take into account variables apart from income including number of dependents to ascertain the final cost and using the sliding scale.
