Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody who must be safely managed through detoxification services when heavily addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, or who requires a broader spectrum of care such as somebody who has a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health services as part of their rehabilitation process. You will find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services accessible.

Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services with regards to intensity of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of needing to be in a rehab facility while undergoing treatment services. While this might seem perfect it may not provide the required change of atmosphere than many individuals in treatment require to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a much more leverage because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals face. In addition, treatment programs will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehab program which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehab facility.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only inside the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some type of drug and alcohol rehab service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals might have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility which is within their network of providers and there may be other limitations like the amount of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick a good facility they prefer and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse treatment solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some restrictions concerning just how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it is clear how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of choice.
