Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody that must be safely managed through detox services when heavily dependent to alcohol and drugs, or who requires a better spectrum of care such as someone who has a dual diagnosis so also needs mental health solutions as part of their rehabilitation process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use due to the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the issue can be difficult among the hearing impaired, there are ASL and other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse treatment is required. Besides ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired folks are receiving the help they need in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage simply because they can choose whichever program they want without the restrictions from health insurers that so many individuals face. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment facilities accept Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present another type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment inside a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality rehab facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug treatment facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in setting up the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If a person doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only inside the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some form of drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility that is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions such as just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick a quality center they like and speak with a rehab specialist to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the price of particular drug abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some limitations concerning how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before you begin rehabilitation so that it is clear the length of time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of choice.
