Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to intensity of care, since the individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of having to stay in a rehab program while undergoing rehab services. Even though this may seem ideal it might not provide the much needed change of environment than many individuals in rehabilitation need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use due to problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the issue is often difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL as well as other assistance services intended for them when substance abuse treatment is required. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the support they need in drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't cover the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but people really have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, treatment centers will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some treatment facilities accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present another kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehabilitation facility that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug rehab facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug rehabilitation centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may be eligible for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug treatment centers. Individuals could have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab center that's within their network of providers and there may be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and meet with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some limitations regarding the length of time a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehab so that it's clear how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation center of preference.
