ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be prone to alcoholism and substance abuse as a result of challenges their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem can sometimes be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL and also other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired folks are getting the support they require in drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs accept Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present any other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of facilities, and in this case individuals may want to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality treatment center that will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug treatment programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some form of drug and alcohol rehab service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals may have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which is within their network of providers and there may be other restrictions including just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a good center they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular substance abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some restrictions about how much time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you begin treatment so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehab program of choice.
