Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services regarding intensity of care, for the reason that individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of needing to be in a rehabilitation program while undergoing rehab services. Although this might appear perfect it will not provide the required change of atmosphere than many people in treatment need to have a successful rehabilitation.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse because of the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL and other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse treatment is necessary. Besides ASL, such services might include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are receiving the help they need in drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation centers will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab centers will take Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present another form of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may wish to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehabilitation facility that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug treatment programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in establishing the individual's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might be eligible for state insurance, they can seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some type of drug and alcohol treatment service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Individuals could have to take part in a drug treatment program that is inside their network of providers and there could be other restrictions including the amount of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a good center they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular substance abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some limitations concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehabilitation so that it's clear how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation center of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance option provided by many different alcohol and drug rehab centers in an effort to help individuals pay for rehabilitation where this might not have been possible initially. As an example, one client's fee for rehabilitation might be different and less than someone else whose financial situation is better which makes them better able to pay for the full price of treatment. Registrars consider other factors in addition to income including amount of dependents to determine the ultimate cost using the sliding scale.
