There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and drug abuse due to the problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this issue can sometimes be hard among the hearing impaired, there are ASL along with other assistance services available for them when drug abuse treatment is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired people are obtaining the help they require in drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but people actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many men and women encounter. In addition, rehab facilities will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present some other type of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality treatment facility which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab centers. Individuals might have to take part in a drug and alcohol treatment center that's within their network of providers and there could be other limitations including just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities along with partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations concerning how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it is clear how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation facility of choice.
