Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody who must be safely managed through detox services when heavily addicted to alcohol and drugs, or who wants a broader spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health solutions during their rehab process. You can find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and drug abuse because of the problems that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the issue can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, there are ASL and also other assistance services intended for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the support they require in drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage because they can decide on whichever facility they want without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehab facilities will take Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of facilities, and in such cases individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality rehab facility that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at alcohol and drug rehab programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehab plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only in the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug rehab service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug and alcohol treatment center that's within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions such as how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality program they like and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain drug abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs and also partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some restrictions concerning how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered prior to starting rehab so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation facility of choice.
