Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions in terms of level of care, since the individual will be able to preserve their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of needing to remain in a rehabilitation program while receiving treatment services. Although this might appear perfect it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in treatment need to have a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. In addition, treatment facilities will frequently offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present some other kind of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality rehab center that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug treatment program.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only inside the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some form of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility that is within their network of providers and there might be other restrictions such as the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick a quality center they like and meet with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered prior to starting rehab so that it is clear how much time and individual can remain in the rehab center of preference.
