You'll find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services accessible.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to level of care, because the individual can maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to remain in a rehab center while undergoing rehabilitation services. While this may appear ideal it might not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than lots of people in treatment need to experience a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse as a result of problems that their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem can be hard among the hearing impaired, you can find ASL and also other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse treatment is needed. Apart from ASL, such services can include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired folks are getting the help they require in drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals really have a much more leverage due to the fact they can choose whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. Likewise, treatment centers will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation facilities will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of facilities, and in this case individuals may wish to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality treatment program that will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in setting up the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug treatment service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab programs. Individuals may have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that is in their network of providers and there might be other limitations including just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality program they like and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehab services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities as well as partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions about just how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting treatment so that it is clear how much time and individual can stay in the treatment facility of preference.
