Substance Abuse Treatment Services

Substance abuse treatment services are available in many different settings along with different treatment lengths and plans to accommodate the various demands of clients with any sort of and level of addiction. With both long and short term and both inpatient and residential programs now being covered by many insurance plans, you shouldn't have to postpone receiving substance abuse treatment services for anyone who wants it.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of intensity of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to be in a rehab facility while receiving treatment services. Even though this may appear perfect it may not provide the much needed change of environment than a lot of people in treatment need to experience a productive rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use due to challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, there are ASL and also other assistance services intended for them when substance abuse rehab is necessary. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are obtaining the help they need in drug and alcohol treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but people in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can choose whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many people face. Likewise, rehab programs will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present another type of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may choose to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality rehab facility which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If a person doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some form of drug rehab service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities. Individuals could have to take part in a drug treatment center which is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions including just how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can select a good facility they prefer and speak with a treatment specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehabilitation services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some limitations regarding just how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before you start rehab so that it is clear how long and individual can remain in the treatment facility of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance possibility made available from a number of drug and alcohol treatment centers in order to help individuals pay for rehabilitation where this might not have been possible initially. As an example, one client's fee for treatment may be different and another person whose finances are better making them better able to pay for the full cost of treatment. Registrars consider other factors apart from income including amount of dependents to determine the ultimate cost and using the sliding scale.
