Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of rehab services regarding level of care, since the individual will be able to preserve their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to stay in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing treatment services. While this may appear ideal it may not provide the much needed change of environment than lots of people in recovery have to have to have a successful rehabilitation.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to problems that their impairment impose on them. While detection of the problem can often be hard among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL and also other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse treatment is necessary. Besides ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are obtaining the help they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Spanish

Not all drug and alcohol rehab programs have the staff or resources to cater to the needs of Spanish speaking clients, but fortunately there are more and more programs that are able to do so because the need for Spanish services is higher than in the past. Therapy, study data and so on are now frequently obtainable in Spanish in both short and long terms programs which deliver inpatient or residential rehab and outpatient Spanish treatment is also available around the country.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many people face. Likewise, rehab programs will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment facilities will take Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present any other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals might want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality rehabilitation facility that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in establishing the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If a person doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab centers. Individuals may have to take part in a drug rehabilitation center that is within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent facility they prefer and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will handle it.
