There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and substance abuse because of the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the problem is often difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL as well as other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse rehabilitation is required. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the support they require in drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. Likewise, treatment centers will often provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehab facilities accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present another type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehabilitation center that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in setting up the person's rehab plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only inside the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug treatment service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug rehab programs. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab program which is in their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a good program they like and consult with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.
