Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of level of care, for the reason that individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of needing to stay in a treatment facility while undergoing rehab services. While this might appear perfect it will not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than many individuals in rehabilitation need to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can decide on whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present any other form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals may want to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality treatment center which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug rehabilitation centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help out with establishing the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug and alcohol treatment service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in a drug and alcohol treatment center which is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations such as the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality facility they like and meet with a treatment specialist to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular drug abuse treatment solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities along with partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions concerning how much time a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the treatment center of preference.
