Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals really have a much more leverage because they can choose whichever facility they want without the restrictions from health insurers that so many men and women face. Likewise, treatment facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of facilities, and in such cases individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehab facility that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehab program.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some form of alcohol and drug treatment service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to take part in a drug rehabilitation center that is inside their network of providers and there might be other limitations for example how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain drug abuse rehab solutions.
