Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the low end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to intensity of care, because the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of needing to be in a rehabilitation center while undergoing rehab services. While this may appear perfect it may not provide the required change of surroundings than many people in recovery require to experience a successful rehabilitation.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and drug abuse due to the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem can sometimes be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL as well as other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse rehab is required. Besides ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the support they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but people in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can choose whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals face. In addition, rehab centers will frequently offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation facilities accept Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of programs, and in cases like this individuals may choose to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality treatment facility that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals might have to participate in a drug rehabilitation program which is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick a good program they prefer and speak with a rehab specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear the length of time and individual can stay in the treatment program of preference.
