Drug Addiction Facts

  • The first step in any inpatient rehabilitation program is a patient evaluation. The evaluation lets the treatment team assess the extent of each patient's physical addiction and identify any mental or physical health issues that need to be addressed.
  • Inpatient drug/alcohol programs, sometimes are extended for patients who are receiving some benefit from the program but have not yet made enough progress to leave the rehab facility.
  • If an individual has been taking fentanyl for even a short period of time, they will begin to experience intense withdrawal symptoms once they stop taking the drug.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions in terms of level of care, as the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing treatment services. While this might seem perfect it might not provide the required change of atmosphere than many people in rehabilitation have to have to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Spanish

Not all drug rehab programs have the staff or resources to focus on the needs of Spanish speaking clientele, but luckily there are more and more centers that can do so because the necessity for Spanish services is higher than ever before. Therapy, study information and the like are now frequently available in Spanish in both short and long terms programs which provide inpatient or residential rehabilitation and outpatient Spanish rehab is also available around the country.

Medicaid

Certain rehab centers accept Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of programs, and in cases like this individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they can to fund a more quality treatment center that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some form of drug and alcohol rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab programs. Individuals may have to participate in a drug and alcohol treatment facility that is within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions for example how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a quality center they like and speak with a rehab counselor to ascertain if their insurance covers it.
