Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the low end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services in terms of intensity of care, because the individual can maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of needing to remain in a rehabilitation facility while receiving treatment services. While this might seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many people in treatment require to have a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but people really have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehab facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug treatment service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug treatment facilities. Individuals may have to participate in a drug and alcohol treatment program that is inside their network of providers and there could be other limitations such as just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality facility they like and meet with a rehab specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of certain substance abuse treatment solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions about the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting treatment so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the treatment facility of preference.
