Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment solutions in terms of level of care, as the individual can maintain their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to stay in a rehab center while undergoing treatment services. Although this might seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many people in treatment need to have a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever center they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many individuals face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation facilities will take Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present some other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals might want to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality treatment program which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in setting up the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could be eligible for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans generally cover some type of drug treatment service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab centers. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which is inside their network of providers and there may be other restrictions for example just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent program they like and consult with a rehab counselor to find out if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain drug abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some restrictions about just how long a stay in inpatient drug rehab is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered before you start treatment so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehab facility of preference.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance option provided by many different drug and alcohol treatment programs to help help individuals pay for treatment where this may not have been possible initially. As an example, one client's fee for rehabilitation might be different and another person whose financial situation is better which makes them better able to pay for the full price of rehabilitation. Registrars take into consideration variables in addition to income including amount of dependents to determine the final cost and using the sliding scale.
