Living in a halfway house, or sober living facility as they are sometimes called, an aspect of sentencing if a person is found guilty of drug charges also. If help is needed finding a halfway house, contact a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and speak with a treatment specialist who is able to point you in the right direction.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services regarding intensity of care, because the individual can keep their lifestyle in lots of ways with no commitment of needing to be in a treatment program while undergoing rehab services. Although this may seem ideal it might not provide the required change of atmosphere than a lot of people in treatment need to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't cover the entire cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage because they can select whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. In addition, rehabilitation programs will often offer payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug rehab centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug rehab service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug treatment center that's within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions such as how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation specialist to find out if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of particular drug abuse treatment services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some restrictions as to how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before beginning rehab so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the treatment center of choice.
