Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment solutions with regards to intensity of care, because the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of having to remain in a treatment facility while receiving treatment services. While this may appear perfect it might not provide the required change of environment than many people in treatment have to have to have a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many people face. Likewise, rehab programs will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehab facilities will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may wish to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehab facility which will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehab program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help out with setting up the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only inside the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some form of alcohol and drug treatment service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. Individuals might have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility that is in their network of providers and there could be other limitations for example the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent center they like and meet with a treatment counselor to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs in addition to partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some limitations as to the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it's clear the length of time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation facility of choice.
