Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services with regards to level of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehab facility while receiving rehab services. Even though this may seem ideal it may not provide the required change of environment than many people in treatment need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse as a result of challenges that their impairment impose on them. While detection of the problem can sometimes be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL as well as other assistance services designed for them when drug abuse rehab is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are receiving the support they require in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance won't cover the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but people in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever center they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many people face. In addition, treatment facilities will often provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs accept Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality treatment program that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehab program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug rehab facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug rehab service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals could have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions like the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation specialist to find out if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular drug abuse treatment solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers in addition to partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations about just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is permitted, and every one of these questions can be answered before beginning rehab so that it's clear how much time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation facility of choice.

Payment Assistance (Check With Facility For Details)

Many drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers provide payment assistance to help individuals who might possibly not have enough funds to self pay for rehab or whose medical insurance won't provide coverage or total coverage for his or her stay. For instance, Occasionally insurance only pays for a short-term center when in actuality a long-term program will be the more ideal option. To see what payment assistance may be available, like a sliding fee scale, check with the program for details.
